EDUCATION SYSTEM IN SWITZERLAND
Switzerland prides itself on  its high standard of publicly-funded education.  As a country with few natural resources, its prosperity depends to a large extent on its brain power.  Most people continue studying after the years of compulsory education, and many take further courses throughout their lives.  At the same time, the education system has to deal with new challenges in the face of changes in society and the world.

The Switzerland has a largely decentralised education. Each canton (district) has an own independent Education Department. The Swiss Conference of cantonal education system is a uniform Swiss cantons to standardise.
Education is divided into four sections: pre-school or kindergarten, primary, secondary and higher education and higher education. The English language in primary schools is taught in most cantons. While there are private schools, most attend public schools students. Education is compulsory up to 16 years.
Primary school
Attending primary school is compulsory for all children under six years of age or older. Primary school lasts six years in 20 cantons and four or five years in other cantons.

Secondary school
